A fresh feeling take on a retro style for the business card of Happy Belly Foods in Wellington

Fraser Bremner the proprietor of Happy Belly Foods in Wellington, approached us to design their business card to match the logo that we developed a little while back.  Fraser’s inspiration was a retro themed business card with a dark front and a lighter back which would carry the logo and a retro styled border matching in with the tones of the logo.

A circle effect border was favoured by the client, Fraser so we got to work finding the right colours and circles to create a very energetic and colourful yet stylish border to match the retro feel of the Happy Belly Foods Logo.

On the reverse we went with the dominant colour from the logo, which is a rich shade of red and teamed that with the background colour from the back of the card to style the typography.  A retro badge was used to tie in the retro feel from the reverse of the business card and the yellow highlights were used to tone down the harsh contrasts of the white and red.  To make the web address stand out we used a green retro ribbon which completes the colour scheme of the logo.

I really love this design just as much as I did when I did the logo.
